My First Attempt At Sugar Skull Makeup | Halloween 2015

Wednesday, 11 November 2015

This post is a little late because Halloween was 10 days ago, but I thought I'd write a post about it anyway.

So it all started when my best friend told me that she wanted to do a Sugar Skull makeup for Halloween. Since I'm almost 7000 miles away from her and there's no possible way for me to do her makeup, I went to Poundland immediately and bought a white face paint for a £1 (duh) and tried to do it myself for the first time. Et voilĂ ! This was the finished product! It may seem okay in photos but I thought I could've done a better job if I had enough time to think about the design and the products. The face paint was rubbish (as expected) and felt like actual paint + face masque. It started to crack and flake after an hour and I was breaking out like crazy the day after. Nonetheless, I had so much fun doing it. I was simply surprised and overwhelmed to have a decent outcome to be honest.

Products and items used:
  • Poundland White Face Paint - £1.00
  • Sleek I-DIVINE EYESHADOW PALETTE IN ULTRA MATTES V2 - £7.99
  • Revlon® ColorBurst™ Matte Balm in Shameless - £7.99
  • Floral Headband from Claire's - £7.00
  • Black Veil (actually a tablecloth) from Poundland - £1.00
  • John 'the skull' Smith from TK Maxx - £6.99

I also filmed the process and uploaded it on my YouTube channel.

This is my bff's finished outcome after our FaceTime makeup sesh. So proud of her because she doesn't normally wear any makeup at all.

Can't wait for Halloween 2016! EEEPPPP!
